Professor of Trumpet and Trumpet Didactics at the Canary Islands Superior Conservatory of Music.
Considered one of the most versatile trumpet players of his generation, he performs both in the interpretation of early music and in the deepest jazz, through classical interpretation. He began his trumpet studies at the age of eight in his hometown, Firgas, (Gran Canaria, Spain) at the “Firgas Youth Music Band” School Board. Later he moved to the Superior Conservatory of Music of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, where he studied with Professor D. Santiago Luri San Vicente. He finishes his trumpet degree with the highest grades.
He further studies with Professor Alejandro Castañeda (solo trumpet of the Gran Canaria Philharmonic Orchestra).
With a scholarship from the Cabildo of Gran Canaria, he moved to study in Valencia, where he pursued musical and university studies at the “José Iturbi” and “Joaquín Rodrigo” conservatories and at the University of Valencia.
He has received classes from the most prestigious trumpeters both in the classical field, early music and Jazz. Some of them are Maurice André, Edward Tarr, Manuel López, Maurice Benterfa, Jouko Harjanne, Hans Gansch, Pierre Dutot, David Hickman, Tim Hagans, Mike Kaupa, Brian Lynch, Laurie Frink….
He is artistic director of the Gran Canaria Big Band, the Atlantic Art Ensemble and the “Maspalomas” International Trumpet Festival.
He has toured numerous countries (Japan, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Spain, Australia, the United States, Mexico,…) as a soloist and with various ensembles such as the Gran Canaria Philharmonic Orchestra, the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra, the Symphony of Castilla y León, Philharmonic Orchestra of the Nations (Berlin), Sedajazz Big Band, Gran Canaria Big Band, Big Band of the Canary Islands, Atlantic Art Ensemble, CSMC Trumpet Ensemble.
