He began his trumpet studies at the age of 12 in the Youth Music Band of the City of Arucas (Gran Canaria) under the direction of Don Juan Falcón Santana, later he continues the process of improvement under the teaching of Don Emiliano Falcón Márquez. His professional studies began at the Professional Conservatory of Music with Professor Don Santiago Luri San Vicente and concluded years later at the prestigious Conservatory of Music of the Canary Islands under the teaching of Doctor Sebastián Gil Armas.
He has received classes from Mr. Alejandro Castañeda and Mr. David Lacruz (Soloists of the Gran Canaria Philharmonic Orchestra) and received master classes with professors such as Benjamín Moreno, Ilan Eshed, John Miller, Pierre Dutot, Hans Gansch, Markus Stockhausen, among others. others who have come to give strength to his style.
He is currently a professor of Brass and Head of Studies at the “Lucy Cabrera” Artistic Schools in Agaete.
He has been solo trumpet of the Municipal Band of Las Palmas de G.C. and the Municipal Band of Telde. He was a teacher for three years at the Lanzarote Insular Conservatory of Music and has taught courses in bands and music schools in the municipalities of this island.
He founder of the 1st Costa Teguise Jazz Festival in Lanzarote.
He was Coordinator during the 6 years of life of the summer courses of Pozo Negro “Fuerteventura”.
He is currently a member of the Gran Canaria Big Band, musical and artistic producer of musical events at the Antonio Padrón de Gáldar House Museum and Artistic Coordinator of the Maspalomas International Trumpet Festival.
He is a member and founder of Baton Rouge Dixieland and the Gran Canaria Brass Quintet.
He has performed with the Croatian metal quintet Simply Brass in Zagreb (Croatia) and within “Die Lange Nacht der Trompete” organized by soloist Otto Sauter in Eisenach (Germany).
In 2018, among his projects, the tour of the Mayan Zone of the Mexican Caribbean with the Gran Canaria Big Band and his participation in the academic team of the IBEROAMERICAN TRUMPET CONGRESS in Cancun, Mexico, from October 24 to 26, which will take place during the Festival activities, stand out. International Music Cancun.
Professor of Trumpet and Didactics of the Trumpet of the Superior Conservatory of Music of the Canary Islands.
Considered one of the most versatile trumpeters of his generation, he works both in the interpretation of ancient music and in the deepest jazz, going through classical interpretation. He began his trumpet studies at the age of eight in his hometown, Firgas, (Gran Canaria, Spain) at the Patronato Escuela “Banda Juvenil de Música de Firgas”. Later he moved to the Superior Conservatory of Music of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, where he studied with Professor D. Santiago Luri San Vicente. He finished his trumpet degree with the highest grades.
He extensively studied with Professor Alejandro Castañeda (soloist trumpet of the Gran Canaria Philharmonic Orchestra).
With a scholarship from the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, he moved to study in Valencia, where he studied music and university studies at the “José Iturbi” and “Joaquín Rodrigo” conservatories and at the University of Valencia.
He has received classes from the most prestigious trumpet players in both classical, early music and jazz. Some of them are Maurice André, Edward Tarr, Manuel López, Maurice Benterfa, Jouko Harjanne, Hans Gansch, Pierre Dutot, David Hickman, Tim Hagans, Mike Kaupa, Brian Lynch, Laurie Frink….
He is the artistic director of the Gran Canaria Big Band, the Atlantic Art Ensemble and the International Trumpet Festival of “Maspalomas”.
He has toured numerous countries (Japan, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Spain, Australia, the United States, Mexico,…) as a soloist and with various ensembles such as the Gran Canaria Philharmonic Orchestra, Tenerife Symphony Orchestra, Orquesta Sinfónica de Castilla y León, Philharmonic Orchestra of the Nations (Berlin), Sedajazz Big Band, Gran Canaria Big Band, Canary Islands Big Band, Atlantic Art Ensemble, CSMC Trumpet Ensemble.
