The International Orchestral Excerpts Competition, organized by the Maspalomas International Trumpet Festival, aims to promote this repertoire among young trumpeters, as it is a fundamental tool for their professional future. It is a global competition that evaluates skill in performing orchestral excerpts, considering factors such as musicality, style, accuracy, and coherence with the musical excerpt.

RULES

• Eligibility: Contestants must be between 15 and 35 years old (as of July 14, 2025).

• Competition Structure: The contest consists of two rounds:

  • ROUND I: July 14, 2025, 3:30 pm.

  • ROUND II – FINAL: July 15, 2025, 8:00 pm.

  • Location: Expomeloneras (“Las Tirajanas” Auditorium).

  • Contestant limit: 15 (priority given to Festival enrollees).

  • Fees: Free for Festival enrollees; €60 for non-enrollees.

• Jury:

  • ROUND I: Ernesto Chuliá, Marcos García Vaquero, Sebastián Gil.

  • ROUND II: Trumpet section of the Madrid Symphony Orchestra/Teatro Real.

• Prizes:

  • First Prize: Contract with the Madrid Symphony Orchestra, MITF 2025 scholarship, €500, Fides Pioneer cornet, Bags trumpet case.
