Antonio Cambres is a musician with extensive experience not only in the teaching field, where he has taught courses all over the country, both in higher conservatories as well as giving Master classes and conferences, but also in the orchestral, symphonic and chamber music fields.
He has belonged as solo trumpet to the Royal Symphony Orchestra of Seville, Municipal Symphony Band of Madrid, Symphony Orchestra of Madrid (head of the Royal Theater) and Orchestra of the Generalitat Valenciana Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía. He has also collaborated regularly with the Gran Canaria orchestra, R.T.V, the Spanish National Orchestra, the Castilla y León symphony, and the Bilbao sinfonikoa orchestra, sometimes being required as first trumpet. As a soloist, he has performed recitals with both organ and chamber orchestra in theaters and auditoriums such as Teatro Real, Sala Pleyel in Paris, National Auditorium, Teatro Monumental, Palau de la Música in Valencia, Sala Phonos in Barcelona and also accompanied by professional band formations. and orchestras such as the Murcia Orchestra, the Albacete Municipal Band, the Santander Municipal Band, the Santiago Municipal Band and the Madrid Municipal Band. He has been awarded in several competitions, both for trumpet and chamber music, such as the Selmer International Trumpet Competition in Paris, Juventud Musicales in Spain, the International Competition for Quintettweber Quintets in Moers (Germany), and a finalist in the International Competition for Metal Quintets in Munich. . There are numerous composers who have composed pieces expressly for Cambres such as Gregory Fritze (The year of the trumpeter, trumpet and band), Juan Cano (Brilliant Brass, trumpet and band), Andrés Valero (Gabadafá, trumpet and Marimba), Javier Martinez ( concert for two trumpets and symphonic band, which he premiered together with Gabor Tarkovi, soloist of the Berlin Philharmonic), Vicente Chuliá (Solemnity, dance and cadence, for trumpet and organ).
Cambres has made numerous recordings for different record labels, in which we can highlight the CD “SI SUONI LA TROMBA”, for trumpet and organ with the organist J.Vicent Giner and the collaboration of the soprano Gloriana Casero and the trumpeter Ernesto Chuliá. In it you can find pieces by Bach, Handel, Caccini, Rachmaninof, Schikardt, Tomasi, Cabo and V.Chuliá. He is a faithful representative of the French trumpet school represented by the figure of the great Maurice André of whom he was a student, and spreads his teachings in each class he teaches.
He is also an artist for the Austrian brand of SCHAGERL trumpets.
